When you think of the Black Hills, a lot of people may think of Mt. Rushmore or Deadwood. But, the first thing that comes to my mind is Bedrock City.

Growing up in Western Nebraska I spent many summer days hanging out with that stone-age family in Custer, SD. You could probably track my growth using pictures of me with the Rubbles and Flintstones.

So, some sad news has come out this week, The Flintstone's Bedrock City could be closing for good after the Labor Day weekend.

Rapid City's KOTA-TV reports that as the attraction celebrates it's 50th anniversary this year the owners have decided to move on. The theme park has been purchased by Custer Hospitality, but there is no word on what will happen next.
