What’s Happening At That Massive Build On 57th Street?
Are the Dutton's Still Building That House on 57th Street?
Every day on my way to work, I drive past it. For the past couple of years, it’s given me something to think about — and honestly, to compare my own house to. Spoiler alert: mine doesn’t even come close.
I’m talking about that HUGE house along 57th Street between Western and Minnesota Avenue in Sioux Falls. You know the one. It’s the kind of place that makes you say, “Well, somebody’s doing alright!”
A while back, I wrote a story wondering if maybe, just maybe, the Duttons from Yellowstone were building a new ranch right here in Sioux Falls. I mean, with an address off Yellowstone Drive, it practically writes itself.

Over the past year and a half, things have really come together. The house looks close to finished now. I noticed the pool went in this summer — and yes, I spotted swimmers enjoying it. But there’s still plenty of work happening outside. And let me tell you, this landscaping job is massive.
Original Story Here: Are The Duttons Building a Home on Yellowstone in Sioux Falls?
They’ve brought in enough rock to build a small mountain. Loads (and I mean loads) of dirt have been hauled in to shape those hills and fill in the low spots. There’s been a ton of activity around the pond, too. My guess? A fancy water feature or maybe even a fountain. Because when your house looks like that, a birdbath just doesn’t cut it.
Just last week, I noticed a trench being dug up from the pond. I couldn’t tell if it’s for electrical conduits or if they’re putting in something wild — like a lift or a gondola. Hey, nothing would surprise me at this point.
All jokes aside, it’s a stunning property. I can’t wait to see it when it’s totally done. Who knows — maybe the Duttons… uh, I mean, the new owners will invite me over for coffee and a little tour when it’s finished.
Got something interesting — or mind-numbingly strange — that Sioux Falls folks might want to read about? Send it my way!
