The 2019 Sioux Falls Area Life Chain is a one-hour prayerful event with local Christians, their clergy and other pro-life groups standing in solidarity for the Sanctity of Life.  This is a silent vigil that will speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.

The first Sunday of October has been set aside as National Life Chain Sunday and was held in over 1500 cities in the U.S. and Canada last year.

The Sioux Falls Life Chain will be Sunday, October 6 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., along 2.5 miles on both sides of West 41st Street from Kiwanis to Sertoma Ave.

Groups are assigned a specific location along the route, so it is helpful to know the number of participants at least a week ahead of the event.

There are several ways to participate:

  • Check to see if your church has a sign-up and you can be added to the block area assigned to them.
  • Ask your pastor if you can participate as a church and call to let us know.
  • Individuals should call 605-929-6531 for a block assignment or stop by one of our check-in stations along the route by 1:45 pm on Oct. 6 to get a spot and a sign. Go to our website at www.siouxfallsarearighttolife.org, the Life Chain section, or call our number, 605-929-6531 for more information.

Life Chain will be held rain or shine, so dress accordingly. Strollers, lawn chairs, and wheelchairs are welcome if needed.

If you have ever wondered what you could do to support life, this event sends a profound yet peaceful message to the community that many are willing to stand up for those who cannot stand or speak for themselves.
