President Obama will begin his Father's Day weekend with a visit Friday to the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation on the North and South Dakota border.

The President and First Lady Michelle Obama travel to Cannon Ball, N.D., to participate in a round table discussion with Native American Youth, and attend the Cannon Ball Flag Day Celebration.

The president is also expected to discuss a plan to overhaul the Bureau of Indian Education, as well as other economic development plans for tribal communities.

Obama has said he wants to hear firsthand about challenges Native Americans face and plans to announce initiatives to help expand Indian economies.

The Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, located near the South Dakota border, has about 1,000 residents.
