May is typically a month for celebrations, especially for high school and college graduates.  The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the customary look of these momentous occasions in people's lives.

Even though traditional graduation ceremonies are not possible at this particular, Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools are making the best out of this unprecedented situation by honoring its high school seniors throughout the month of May.

According to its Facebook page, Bishop O'Gorman Catholic High School will feature its seniors on the school's electronic message board.  Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools' post explains, "This month, we are highlighting our SENIORS who weren't able to finish out their final year at O'Gorman High School exactly as planned. You will see their pictures featured on our message board on 41st Street and Kiwanis."  The seniors will also be posted daily on the Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools' Facebook page.

I can only imagine what the seniors are going through at this difficult time.  However, there are many individuals throughout Sioux Falls who are trying their best to make high school and college seniors within the community feel appreciated, including Mayor Paul TenHaken.

Mayor Paul TenHaken announced that he would like to address the Class of 2020 through Instagram.  The Mayor made this special announcement last Tuesday afternoon in a tweet from his Twitter account.  The special commencement address is scheduled to go live on Mayor TenHaken's Instagram account on Thursday, May 14th at 6 PM.

Congratulations to the Class of 2020!  Your city is very proud of your accomplishments!
