One of the cool things about having to write at daily blog is looking back. Today I searched New Years and this story popped up. It comes from three years ago. I'm happy to report that I'm exactly where I was weight wise three years ago. How about you? Is the scale creeping up? If it is, now is a great time to make some choices.

Here's my story from three years ago.

Many people started talking about it with friends and families around the holidays. Today they may be starting out the new year with hopes of success.  We're talking about New Years Resolutions.

It doesn't matter if it's 10 pounds or 100 pounds, or quitting smoking or just taking more time for yourself.  Resolutions are more about 'lifestyle changes' than diets and depriving yourself.

2 years ago I lost 53 pounds.  For the most part I've been able to keep the weight off.  This holiday season was 'brutal' though. I'm up about 8-9 pounds.  In short, I gave up on the 'lifestyle adjustments' that i had made.

Starting today I'm fixing it!  I don't want to give it back.  Today I start.

Whatever your vice.  Whatever your resolution, keep it simple and do it for yourself and nobody else.  You CAN do it.

One other thing I kept telling myself when I was in full swing and successful at losing or changing.  The things we think in life are rewards...are usually some sort of a punishment.

Here's to clean living and clean eating.  And here's to hitting your marks and making your goals in 2013.
