Here are more details on the game as outlined by Kickin' Country Play by Play man Jeff Fylling.

Eight or Eighteen? After the first game of the season that was my guess. Eight or Eighteen or any where in between could be the win total for what appeared to be a very talented but very young basketball team. Sometimes a lack of experience in life means you don’t know what you’re up against and you succeed despite prior experience. That may have been the case for Tom Billeter’s team but as I found out there was plenty of talent among those six Freshmen. Dan Jansen the 6’9” Frosh from Orange City, Iowa was named Freshman of the year in the conference. The the other youngsters, Zach Huisken, 6’9” from Chandler, Minnesota, Casey Schilling, 6’6” from Ellsworth, Minn. Jamal Taylor, 6”3” from Milwaukee, Wisc. Joe Burt, 6’2” from St. Cloud, Minn. and Tanner Odegaard , 5’10” from Brookings all played key roles on a team that is 21-8 and headed to the NCAA Central Regional tournament in Mankato. Of course Cam McCaffrey the Senior from Hillsboro, Oregon has become the all team leading scorer in school history, with 1917 points. A carrer unsurpassed in Augustana history. Cam is not only a great player but a 3.5 in the classroom in Pre-Med. The best thing about this outfit….they are a group of classy young men!

What a year and what a future for Augustana Basketball. It has been a privilege for me to bring you the games, believe it or not, for my 30th year.
