Life is full of ups and downs and that's what we are told since the time we are youngsters, but when we are youngsters we never expect those downs to be cancer.

The unimaginable happened to young Wyatt Hansich, a 8 year old from Montrose, SD as he is facing a battle right now after he was diagnosed with a brainstem glioma, a brain tumor found on the brainstem.

Wyatt has stood strong and faced this battle with as much courage as one could have and has proven to be a true inspiration for so many.

He likes to go 4-wheeling, fishing, camping and recently has been helping his Dad restore his Grandfathers truck.  Wyatt also is a Vikings fan and he wanted to go check out a Vikings game to get a chance to think about something else that what was going on and cheer for his favorite team.

The Minnesota Vikings heard about Wyatt's desire to come to a game and they stepped up to the plate big time as they hosted the 8 year from Montrose.

His Mom Emily and his Dad Luke, along with two of their others sons, Cody and Lane along with Wyatt's cousin Bailee all made the trip up to the Twin Cities.  Their youngest child, Blake who is only 3 years old stayed back in South Dakota as we all know how patient 3 year olds are at a 3 hour football game.

It was a trip that was full of so many moments provided by many generous people along the way.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson provided six tickets for the Hanisch family to attend Sunday's game against the Rams.

The Vikings organization invited Wyatt and his family out to practice on Saturday and the entire team, from the folks in the front office to the players themselves were so receptive and accommodating to Wyatt.

Head Coach Mike Zimmer gave up his parking spot for the family and allowed Wyatt to lead the team in the breakdown after practice.

South Dakota native and Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway wore a Wyatt Hanisch wristband during the game in honor of the fight he is on and the person he is.

The Hyatt Place Minneapolis/Downtown is a place I stay all the time at when I am in Minneapolis for work and they graciously donated two rooms for the weekend for the Hanisch family as well.

Life won't get easier as Wyatt continues his battle but this past weekend was a chance for him and his family to enjoy a trip that will leave lasting memories forever.

His Mom Emily said and I quote "We had a blast!"

As you read this you can do your part to help this family out as well.  Be like the Minnesota Vikings (and Packers fans this is one time that is ok) and step up to the plate, donate a little or a lot, whatever you can to help this family as they continue working towards getting Wyatt better.

There will also be a fundraising banquet on November 28th to help out the family as well.

I just go back to the thoughts that I had when I first heard Wyatt's story. What if it was my young child, how badly I would want the community to help me and my family.

Keep the faith, Wyatt sure has and he can teach us all a lot while he continues his fight.

For this weekend though, the folks at Hyatt Place and the folks from the Minnesota Vikings helped confirm the faith in the good that is still in this world,  When people go through tough times, people from all walks of life rally together to do what is right.
