As far as American Idol goes, Keith Urban has no more information than you have. He has no information on his status as a judge.

"I have no official information of anything," he told Fox news. "I'm pretty much in the same boat as everybody else here with the rumors that have been floating around. I don't know anything more about what's happening next season. It was like this before I signed on ... so it's not unusual for the 'Idol' folks to be in this place of figuring out what they want to do, then they always pull it together."

In the meantime, Urban has a lot to do. He has set a September 10th release date for his new album Fuse.  He's branching out from his long time producer Dan Huff.  While Huff is on the project for some songs, Urban has brought on Jay Joyce, best known for his work with Eric Church and Little Big Town and Taylor Swift collaborator Nathan Chapman. He's also brought in rocker Butch Walker.

He's also released the first single, Little Bit Of Everything  from that upcoming album and  so far, it has been very positive.

"It's just been really creatively liberating to me," Urban said. "I love collaborating. It's the thing I've always loved doing, whether it's writing or performing or being in the studio, I love the collaborative process. I think finding people's strengths is the thing I love the most."

Fuse will be available in stores September 10th.
