I gotta tell you, when I saw this concert and how it lined up on the calendar, I was wondering how on earth that was going to work.

Kane Brown, Granger Smith and Jimmie Allen played Swiftel Center in Brookings on Saturday, February 16, 2019. I was skeptical at first, then got to thinking, this is brilliant. Kane Brown was coming off an appearance at the Grammy's and hot as anyone, anywhere. Granger Smith and alter ego Earl Dibbles Junior is a perfect fit for the college town/city that so many rural students attend. Country newcomer Jimmie Allen, coming off a recent number one [Best Shot] rounded out the lineup.

Then there's the Jimmie Allen story. He's a grinder for sure. He's been on The Bobby Bones Show several times and has told his story of sleeping in his car during early days at Nashville and showering at the local gym he worked at as a personal trainer. Talk about paying Nashville dues.

Kane Brown and Jimmie Allen, brought the urban vibe and Granger Smith, along with alter ego Earl Dibble Jr.,came with middle America swagger made for a combination that worked.  Not only did they play Swiftel Center they sold it out! According to Kristina Lankow, Sales and Marketing Manager at Swiftel;

It was a sold out crowd of more than 5,000 fans. He had the entire arena on their feet jumping during his signature “Mash-Up” which included songs across genres and decades. Opening acts included Granger Smith and Jimmie Allen.

If you were there, you know, the place was bumpin'! Shout out to Swiftel Center on a great show. Oh and about the calendar thing I was talking about. They were able to do it on the same night Blake Shelton played to a sold out show in Sioux Falls less than 50 miles away.

Looks like Country Music is alive, and doing fine!
