Tim McGraw has been a top country touring act for decades. He knows how to play to a crowd. Last night in Des Moines, McGraw proved that he knew he was in the state of Iowa and that March Madness was underway!

McGraw is currently on his 'Standing Room Only' tour. It made a stop at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Thursday night. KCCI reports that McGraw will be in St. Louis tonight and in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday. Stars like McGraw are known as much for what they wear on stage as for their music. And last night Tim knew that the Iowa crowd would go nuts for his onstage wardrobe choice!

Apparently, Tim stopped at an Iowa sporting goods store and picked up a #22 Caitlin Clark jersey to wear on stage. I'm guessing he had his 'people' pick one up for him. But how better to get a crowd on your side than to honor Iowa's favorite sports star, Caitlin Clark? The reaction on social media proved it was a smart move!

You can now put Tim McGraw among those rooting for Clark and the Iowa women this March! The #1 seed Hawkeyes begin their March Madness journey on Saturday afternoon against #16 seed Holy Cross at Carver Hawkeye Arena. Too bad Tim is on tour. He'd look great courtside cheering on the Hawkeyes!
