Country Singer Ian Munsick Seen in South Dakota For Special Trip
There's been more celebrity sightings in South Dakota whether it's for work or pleasure. But one country singer came to the 605 for a little bit of everything.
Singer and songwriter Ian Munsick surprised some South Dakota fans while he was vacationing with his family and working on a special project.

Who Is Ian Munsick?
Originally from Sheridan, Wyoming, Ian Munsick has been grinding in the country music world since moving to Nashville. He started out singing background vocals and playing bass for other artist in Nashville. He finally got his break in 2021 after signing for a solo record deal with Warner Music Nashville. His debut single was "Long Haul," which was also the lead single from his debut album Coyote Cry. Since then, he's made appearances on the Grand Ole Opry's stage, dropped his second album in 2023, collaborated with fellow country stars like Cody Johnson and Vince Gill, and even released a documentary called White Buffalo: Voices of the West.

He's been to the Sioux Empire for recent shows:
- August 2025 was at the Iron Horse Saloon on the Dennis Kirk Main Stage in Sturgis, South Dakota
- Another show in August 2025 was at the Sioux Empire Fair in Sioux Falls.
- March 2026 in Brookings, South Dakota at the Dacotah Bank Center for his first headlining tour The Eagle Flies Free
What's Ian Munsick Doing in South Dakota?
It looks like Ian was having a little fun with his family and doing some business on the side. Coming soon in September, Ian Munsick will open the new Ian Munsick's Cowboy Bar & Western Grill in Deadwood, South Dakota. Fans will be excited for this new South Dakota bar!
In an Instagram post, Ian has been part of the whole process. The plan is to have a grand-opening celebration beginning on Friday, September 18th. It doesn't get any better than live music, craft cocktails, and great food made from scratch.
It's pretty cool to see new businesses open in South Dakota, especially for Ian Munsick to pick our state to open a local eatery.
