Fergus Falls, Minnesota Idol Star Gives ‘Goosebumps’ Performance
Chris Tungseth is giving Fergus Falls, Minnesota, a star on the map.
The competition is getting intense on this season of American Idol, especially when finalists are singing not one...but TWO songs live.

Monday night was the biggest challenge to date, live on the American Idol stage during Season 24. Chris Tungseth, along with the other Top 7 finalists, performed one of Taylor Swift's chart-topping songs, along with a performance dedicated to legendary California artists.
Chris' first song of the night was "exile" featuring Bon Iver from Taylor Swift's 2020 album folklore.
Fun Fact: Looks like this Minnesota singer is a Swiftie at heart! This former middle linebacker used to play "Blank Space" in the locker room before a big football game.
It was as if his eyes were singing with the song. The judges took notice of that, including Carrie Underwood.
Chris, you have such a tender quality to your voice that really lens itself to storytelling. I think you picked a really great song to showcase that. Well done.
Chris got a standing ovation from all the judges! Comedian and Huge Swiftie Nikki Glaser was the guest judge for the evening, and admits she's a big fan of Chris.
I've been watching you all season and whenever you sing I just know I'm in good hands. I don't have anything to worry about. That's the part of performing that people don't think about...You just don't want them to be nervous for you and I never am with you.
His last song for all the California Dreamers was "What Was I Made For?" from Billie Eilish.
The pressure is on...Did Chris Tungseth Make It To The Top 5?
After an "extremely tight" vote, Chris Tungseth made it to the Top 5! Holy cow! Is there anything this Minnesota kid can't do?
You can watch this season of American Idol on Mondays at 7 PM on KSFY. Next week, Idol icons Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson return as guest mentors for the Top 5. And after 20 years, Paula Abdul will also take her seat back in the judge's chair. Chris, you're blowing the Sioux Empire away with your talent!
