Gas prices have been relatively stable lately, but after the events in Iraq involving Iran and the United States, things could change.

The average price for a gallon of gas in South Dakota this week is $2.47. That is down a penny from last week. The price is down a nickel from a month ago at $2.52. A year ago we were sitting pretty at just $2.17 per gallon.

“It’s typical to see crude oil prices push more expensive amid current events,” said Marilyn Buskohl, AAA spokesperson. “What this increase means in terms of retail prices is yet be seen. It depends on how expensive crude oil prices go and the duration at which it sells at a higher price point.”

The average price for a gallon of gas in Sioux Falls is $2.42 per gallon. The cheapest gas you can find is at Mobil on 49th street, Costco and also at Sam's Club.
