Gabby Barrett is not in a forgiving mood on her new revenge anthem, "I Hope."

The single brings all the sass and edge that pairs perfectly with Barrett's powerhouse vocals. This marks the 2018 American Idol finalist's first song she has released since finishing her American Idol Live! tour to an excited fan base.

Barrett co-wrote "I Hope" alongside hit songwriters Zachary Kale and Jon Nite. The lyrics serve as a kiss-off to a cheating ex-boyfriend. The emotionally charged song reveals her hopes for the ex's new relationship: "I hope she cheats like you did on me," Barrett sings.

“I am so unbelievably excited to share ‘I Hope’ with the world,” Barrett says in a press release. “After my Idol chapter closed, I knew this song was the one I wanted to frame myself with. Being a female, I know what it’s like to go through a bad break up and not get to say what you really want to. This song is for anybody that has gone through the same.”

The next release for Barrett is her official music video for the catchy single. She shared a video clip of her recording the song for fans and divulged that the music video will be shot in Nashville. After filming her new music video, Barrett will be back to writing and recording new music for the current project she's working on with award-winning producer Ross Copperman.

Barrett has been touring consistently with the American Idol Live! 2018 tour and opening up for Chris Lane's Laps Around the Sun Tour since her run on Idol ended. She will be performing select tour dates this summer, including summer festivals.

Did You Know? Barrett and fellow American Idol contestant Cade Foehner revealed they were dating toward the end of their season on the show.
