Florida Georgia Line to Perform at 2017 Billboard Music Awards
The Billboard Music Awards performers list includes a little country flavor this year. It was revealed on Monday (May 1) that Florida Georgia Line will take the stage at the 27th annual awards show.
The announcement was made via the Billboard Music Awards' official Twitter page. FGL will be in good company, as many of music's top acts will grace the stage: John Legend, Celin Dion, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Lorde have also been booked as performers.
Florida Georgia Line's Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard are the most-nominated country act leading up to the awards ceremony, earning nods for Top/Duo Group, Top Country Artist, Top Country Album and more.
Luke Bryan is the sole country act to be nominated for the Billboard Chart Achievement Award, while FGL fill that same role in the Top/Duo Group category, where they're up against Guns N' Roses, Coldplay, Twenty One Pilots and the Chainsmokers. Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and many more country stars also find themselves nominated.
The announcement of the duo's BBMAs performance follows a recent live appearance with the Chainsmokers during a concert in Ohio, where they sang their new collaboration, "Last Day Alive." The song is featured on the Chainsmokers' 2017 chart-topping album, Memories...Do Not Open. Florida Georgia Line are set to hit the road on their 2017 Smooth Tour this summer, which sees Chris Lane, Nelly and the Backstreet Boys joining them for select dates.
