More than 30 firefighters were busy battling a blaze that broke out around 11:00 PM on Wednesday, August 31 in a strip mall just off west 12th Street in Sioux Falls.

Residents from a neighboring building noticed smoke emanating from a strip mall located at 311 South Garfield late Wednesday night and called Sioux Falls Fire Rescue.

Firefighters had the fire under control within 30 minutes of arriving. The blaze severely damaged only two units in the strip mall. The rest of the units in the structure received smoke damage.

The mall was not occupied at the time and no one was hurt. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
