Did you know there is no standing law against selling and eating dog meat in South Dakota and most of the other states in the United States? Only 6 states outlaw dog and cat meat consumption: Virginia, California, Hawaii, New York, Georgia, and Michigan.

Every June 21 there is a dog meat festival in Yulin, China. I had no idea this actually a real thing. It is. And I find it very disturbing.

According to Dhaka Tribune between 10 and 20 million dogs are killed every year for food in China and on the 21 of June every year vendors set up booths to sell freshly butchered dogs.

Even though animal rights groups continue to heavily protest the butchering and selling of dogs at this event, thousands of dogs have traditionally been killed and butchered for consumption.

There are literally booths with stacked skinned dog carcasses, hanging dogs, and vendors sell prepared dog meat dishes.

It is legal to sell and eat dog meat in China. Thailand and South Korea are also big consumers of dogs.

I understand that different cultures have different beliefs and traditions but don't you think this is just wrong?
