I've lived in Sioux Falls for over 20 years now. You know what? I can't think of one time I've said to myself, man I've just gotta grab a few beers and head on down to the park.

We've had a rash of park talk here in Sioux Falls. Enough already.

Simple solution. No drinking in the city parks.

Next time I see My Man Mike, (Sioux Falls Mayor) I'll bring it up.

Remember driving through Falls Park 18 years ago. Not a pretty sight.

The way I look at it, if there's a slippery slide or a swing set you probably don't need a six pack. And those of you who know me, know that I'm all about a cold one. In the right place. At the right time.

Parks should be a place to go for a walk or a run or just relax. Not a place where officials are checking for a wristband or your niece and nephew get to witness public intoxication for the first time.

It's a novel concept, so please let me know if I'm missing out here.

Drink at home. Drink in a bar.

Parks should be for a walk.  Parks should be for families and kids.

Now, about that issue of homeless people, and people with no place to drink. That's another story. Probably a bigger story.
