Celebrate Earth Day 50 at Home with Stuff Everyone Will Love
It is hard to believe that we've been celebrating Earth Day for 50 years. Firstly, because, our planet and its species seem to be in more jeopardy than ever, and secondly, because, well - - 50 years! Earth Day 2020 is Wednesday, April 22.
It has always been about education, but also about taking action and since our actions are being somewhat limited by the recent coronavirus situation, I thought I would share information regarding virtual and personal ways to celebrate the event.
There is no shortage of activities to explore with major organizations going digital this year for this big 50th-anniversary celebration of Earth Day.
Among them:
- Earth Day: The Official Site - Where you and your family can find out about the various campaigns being worked on year-round, like Earth Challenge 2020, The Great Global Cleanup and more.
- Earth Day Live: A companion to the official Earth Day website which will carry live programs all day on Wednesday, April 22.
- Space.com - A website that has gathered a number of different resources for all kinds of activities, together.
- NASA Earth Day 2020: 50th Anniversary Toolkit - Tons of information and activities for everybody--teachers, students, parents, kids, etc.
- American Museum of Natural History(AMNH) - They are throwing a live Earthfest all day on Earth Day, April 22nd and will have links to numerous live activities and watch parties, recipes for "Glacier Goo", trivia games and more.
