Well, the internet has decided it doesn't like the new Ghostbusters' theme by Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliot. personally I'm not excited nor offended by the song. It's kinda boring and nothing special, but I can see it playing over the credits of the new movie.

But, I've been listening to movie soundtracks for a long time, and there's been plenty of worse songs made to promote movies. Here's six.

  • 1

"City of Crime" from Dragnet (1987)

You can just imagine the marketing meeting that gave birth to this. "Why don't we get Dan and Tom to do a hippy-hop rap for the kids?" -Executive 1

"What will the song be about?" - Executive 2

"They'll just tell the plot of the move as their characters" - Executive 3

    "

  • 2

"Ninja Rap" From Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991)

Go, ninja, go ninja, go to bed.

  • 3

"Addams Family Whoomp" from Addams Family Values (1993)

What better way to celebrate the return of the creepiest and kookiest family in town then with a Miami Bass anthem that retells the movies plot?

  • 4

"We Will Rock You" From Gladiator (1992)

I'm not going to dump on Warrent. Their Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich album still rocks. And this songs has the stink of corporate synergy all over it, so I can't blame them for making money. But, you can just feel the Nirvana revolution breaking as this plays.

  • 5

"(Meet) The Flintstones" from The Flintstones (1994)

    So this is a thing.

  • 6

"Deepest Bluest" From Deep Blue Sea (1999)

LL Cool J has the thankless task of reciting the plot in a song for this 'Jaws on Steroids' move.
