Since 1975, Saturday Night Live has been providing comic relief to the world even when times are tough.  Shows have always been performed on its iconic stage in New York City on Saturday night...until the pandemic started.  However, the show still found a way to provide its staple weekly Saturday evening entertainment despite not being in the studio. Thankfully, the show has now returned “home” and is gracing the stage for its 46th season!

Besides the hilarious sketches, countless musical acts have also been part of this historic television series.  The stage at 30 Rockefeller Plaza is where most artists perform on Saturday night.  But how many country performers have been part of the Saturday Night Live shows?  More than you think.

After watching Dolly Parton's Saturday Night Live episode from Season 14, I was curious to see what other country musicians had the opportunity to perform on the live sketch comedy show.

With a little research and some help from Ranker, here are 11 country artists that have appeared on Saturday Night Live.

Faith Hill: October 12, 2002

Faith Hill was a musical guest during the 28th Season of the show.  She even made an appearance during one of the sketches shown here.

Keith Urban: February 10th, 2007

The Australian native took to the SNL stage during its 32nd Season.  Keith performed some of his current hits at the time, including "Stupid Boy" and "Once in a Lifetime."  Although this is not the Saturday Night Live performance, here is Keith singing "Stupid Boy" in 2007.

Carrie Underwood: March 24th, 2007 and February 23rd, 2008

Not only did Carrie perform once on SNL but twice within a year!  In 2007, the once-rising country star performed "Wasted" and "Before He Cheats."  Carries career really took off in 2008, and she returned to the SNL stage to perform "All-American Girl" and "Flat on the Floor."

Garth Brooks: November 13th, 1999

Garth Brooks was the host AND musical guest.  Well...sort of.  Garth was part of the entire show as himself until he performed as his alter ego, Chris Gaines.  It was an episode that fans will always remember.

Blake Shelton: January 15th, 2015

During its historic 40th season, Blake Shelton was a host AND a musical guest on Saturday Night Live.  Blake sure did utilize his funny talents on the stage!

The Chicks (AKA The Dixie Chicks): February 8th, 2003

Season 28 was getting underway when The Chicks performed on SNL and actor Matthew McConaughey served as the host.

The Zac Brown Band: March 7th, 2015

A country group made its debut Saturday Night Live during the show 40th season.  Around this time, The Zac Brown band just debuted its new album, "Jekyll + Hyde."

Randy Travis: February 20th, 1988

Saturday Night Live was only a teenager when Randy Travis made an appearance.  Who was the host?  None other than Mr. Tom Hanks.

Chris Stapleton: January 16th, 2016 and January 27th, 2018

Chris Stapleton performed on Saturday Night Live during the 41st and 43rd seasons of the show.  He brought the house down each time he performed.  However, his song "Nobody To Blame" during his SNL debut is my all-time favorite.

Dwight Yoakam: April 9th, 1994

Dwight Yoakam appeared on SNL during its 19th season.  One of the songs he performed was "Fast As You."  I could not find the Saturday Night Live performance, so here's the live performance of "Fast As You" from 1993 on the CMA Awards.

Jason Aldean: October 7th, 2017

This Saturday Night Live episode was unlike any other.  About a week prior to the show, a shooting massacre occurred in the City of Las Vegas just as Jason Aldean was performing directly across the street at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival.  It was only a few days later when Jason Aldean made a surprise visit to “Studio 8H” and performed Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down" to open the show.  It was a chilling and unbelievable performance from one of America’s favorite country artists. Jason Andean has not appeared on Saturday Night Live since that memorable evening.
