I heard there is a football game this weekend in Miami.

However, for car fanatics like me, this weekend is about one of the best car shows in the year, Winterfest of Wheels.

Some of the finest vehicles in the region will gather for one weekend in the climate-controlled space of the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

You never know what you'll find at Winterfest.  From muscle cars to classic pick-ups and vehicles that have been featured in magazines and on TV.  Something for everyone.

The best part of Winterfest of Wheels is that it supports Cure Kids Cancer.

Over the years, I've owned a few cars that would be worthy of a spot at Winterfest, but there have been many, many more that were one major repair away from the junkyard.

The car in the pic was my 1999 Pontiac Trans Am Convertible with the WS6 Ram-Air package.  I owned it in 2005 when it only had 19,000 miles.

You gotta love my dorky pose, the Trans Am was definitely cooler than me!

Money got tight and the toy had to go, but not without a few tears.  Dang those priorities.

Now I look forward to car shows like Winterfest where I can admire other people's classic rides, but I don't have to deal with the expense of owning one myself.

If you come out Winterfest of Wheels this Saturday, February 1, be sure to say hi to your favorite Results Radio station.  Mix 97-3 and KXRB will be there from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and KIKN and B102.7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
