Most of the attention on South Dakota weather today will be focused on the northeast corner of the state and much of Minnesota as 40 - 60 mph winds are expected through Monday creating hazardous conditions with no travel advised.

A little closer to home, the southeast corner, a bit of snow, rain, and drizzle fell overnight making the roadways icy for morning commuters. Before sunrise the temperatures were hovering around the freezing mark of 32 degrees but that's changing quickly.

Temperatures around the Sioux Falls area will drop steadily through the morning and settle around 21 degrees by noon today.

An individual who clears commercial lots called early this morning and reported an 1/8 inch of ice on sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots.

Our early morning callers all agreed on one thing. It's going to get worse before it gets better.
