I doubt there are many followers of the Augustana Vikings who  haven't caught themselves scratching their heads this season.  The Vikings probably didn't expect to have a record of 2-4 at this stage of the year.  I didn't expect it either but over the past few years I've developed a little bit different view of the NSIC and the Augustana Vikings.

It's a competitive league!  Oh sure, the Vikings have had tons of moral victories this season.  The second half at Duluth was enough to remind you the Vikings can score in a hurry when they need to.  Ben Parsons has made catches no man should catch. Josh Hanson is a threat anytime and anywhere on the field.  So what's up with the Vikings then?

Probably little things.  Penalties.  Maybe a missed block or tackle.  Little things always factor in and then you might add the word parity.  The NSIC seems to mirror the NFL.  Everyone's getting a little better.  Bigger, stronger and faster.

Crookston has a win this season.  Northern State is better.  Duluth, Mankato and St. Cloud are, what they are. Good!  Oh, and after Upper Iowa there's a team from a couple of blocks away here in Sioux Falls waiting for a game with the Vikings next week at Kirkeby-Over Stadium.

The Vikings travel to Fayette, Iowa this weekend to take on the Peacocks. Here is a quick summary of the game as read on Goaugie.com,
