As the saying goes, 'Politics makes strange bedfellows'.

Well, so does music.

Led Zeppelin is legendary.  The Fathers (or maybe Grandfathers?) of what we used to call 'hard-rock', the English rockers released their first album in the late 1960's and since then have been the measuring stick for every other hard rock band that has come down the proverbial pike.

Although not known as a 'singles band', Led Zeppelin  had one of the most played songs in the history of the genre', 'Stairway To Heaven'.

Ok, you say, that's all well and good, but what in the world does Led Zeppelin have to do with Classic Country Music? It has to do with the lady pictured here.

Well again, as it turns out, music does make strange bedfellows.

In 2007, the lead singer from Led Zepplin (and a man considered by many to have the greatest voice in the history of rock and roll) Robert Plant teamed up with one of the most beautiful voices in the history of country and bluegrass music, Alison Krauss.

The result? An album called 'Raising Sand' that won a Grammy Award for Album Of The Year.

Hear (and watch) a cut from the album below.
