Just because something only has three main ingredients, don't let anyone tell you that you can't make it your own.

Wrong.

For me, a bona fide chocoholic, I don't just stop at a small piece of Hershey bar (my preference) on one side of my marshmallow, I use the ENTIRE bar to form a layer of chocolate goodness on BOTH sides of my backyard BBQ creation.

Nothing revolutionary I know, but there is a company out there that takes upgraded S'mores very seriously.

The Portland, Oregon-based 1927 S’mores Company is going totally 'off book' with some of their suggestions on how to take this iconic snack to a whole new level.

In a Thrillist story, they outline a few of the 'add-ons' that will transform S'mores forever:

  • Adding fresh strawberries, raspberries, cherries, and orange for a fresh produce kick.
  • Going in a more sweet and salty direction with the addition of crushed potato chips, saltine crackers, or pretzels, coupled with sliced banana, toasted coconut shreds, or chopped peanuts.
  • Make your S'mores more seasonal with pumpkin pie filling in the fall and cocoa mint in the winter.

What twist do you put on your S'mores?
