It's about time. South Dakota State Senators debated a bill on Tuesday afternoon to ban texting while driving in a statewide measure. While points were made on both sides of the issue the votes were finally cast. Results: The Senate passed the bill by a vote of 24-9. Now, it goes to a House committee. By the way, 39 other states, including neighbors Iowa and Nebraska, have a ban against texting while behind the wheel.

 

Sioux Falls lost a very special boy this week. JP Peters passed away on Saturday due to complications with influenza A. JP is the son of Jason and Deanna Peters. He was a 6th grader at St. Mary's Catholic School.
