Remember Singing Dad Kris Jones? He’s Back With an ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ Cover
Kris Jones — the dad from Texas who went viral with a cover of "Tennessee Whiskey" — is back with an equally striking version of Brett Young's hit, "In Case You Didn't Know."
Seated in a comfortable room with an acoustic guitar backing him, Jones' vocals are the star of this video. The song is a perfect match for the viral father, whose beautiful pipes and impressive control make for a haunting cover you'll want to hit repeat on after watching.
Of Course We've Gotta Give You Brett's Version, Too
No, it's not the original, but Jones brings the song to life in his own way, showing off the special voice many country fans were enamored by when we met him. Jones was launched into the spotlight when his daughter, Dayla, recorded him singing "Tennessee Whiskey" while driving around in the car in late 2016.
The video has amassed more than 32 million views since, even earning Jones an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Though he was rejected by The Voice, during his interview on DeGeneres' show in early 2017 he shared that he had been contacted by representatives from the show for another shot.
"In Case You Didn't Know" was a big hit for Taste of Country RISERS breakout star Brett Young — it was a radio smash and his first No. 1 single. Young was recently named one of the top artists of the year on country radio in both the male and overall artists categories and has scored his second No. 1 hit with "Like I Loved You." He's currently in the process of putting together his sophomore album that's due out sometime in 2018, and he co-wrote tracks with Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley while out on the road with the trio.
