
South Dakota Minimum Wage Workers to Get Raise Starting January, 1st
Minimum wage workers in the state will soon be seeing a slight bump in their paychecks.
KSFY TV is reporting the minimum wage here in South Dakota is set to increase by 1.9 percent starting January 1, 2018.
That translates into a 20 cent an hour hike, taking the minimum wage from $8.65 an hour to $8.85 an hour.
South Dakota employees working on tips can expect to see their hourly wage increase to nearly $4.43 an hour.
According to the KSFY TV report, the annual minimum wage hike is based on the increase in the cost of living, which is measured by the Consumer Price Index published by the U.S. Department of Labor.
