Let’s take a trip back in time through the month of January 2017. Sioux Falls Skyforce guard Briante Weber produced enough beautiful basketball to be NBADL Player of the Month.

Track number one on the Bri’s Greatest Hits album begins at the home studio in Sioux Falls against the Texas Legends January 6. A performance of 23 points, 3 rebounds and 10 assists and 6 steals was a sublime start to this string of hits.

Against the same Legends team one night later, a little softer number was needed to secure the win with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 more steals. The concert venue change to Hidalgo, Texas stirred something deep inside Weber on January 11 as 31 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals composed the fourth triple double of the season.

We get to track four at home against Erie for the first loss of the month January 13 which snapped a long regular season home winning streak with a top heavy 23 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal. Two nights later was a tune up for the Showcase, vanquishing Reno with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 steals.

In front of the men and women who make decisions for NBA clubs, Weber polished up his game at the NBA Development League Showcase. The highest rebound total of Bri’s month helped the Skyforce outlast Reno on January 19 (14 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals). Then teaming up with duet partner Patrick Miller Sioux Falls edged the Los Angeles D-Fenders behind Weber’s 28 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 more steals.

The four closing tracks on Bri’s Greatest Hits are a little more pensive with the ‘Force on the short end of the scoreboard. One was an eruption of emotion against the Bighorns (34 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal) on January 25. D-Fenders revenge on January 26 despite 19 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals.

Oklahoma City had a two-night stand with Weber playing fast and loose on the way to 13 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and a steal on January 28. The closing number was a fitting finale nearly recording the first quadruple double in NBADL history (18 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists and 9 steals).

As we have reached the coda for this album, keep this in the liner notes. Two years ago, Weber had suffered a serious knee injury while at Virginia Commonwealth which makes this maestro all the more mystifying.

From the passes off the backboard (one to himself) to the putback slam, Bri's Greatest Hits is a big seller for an indie label. Next step is the big recording contract with the Association.
