Good news, it looks like you'll still be able to put on your Sunday's best and head to Sears in Sioux Falls, if you live in Rapid City, not so much.

The Argus Leader is reporting the Sioux Falls Sears store located in the Empire Mall was spared on Thursday, (January 4) when Sears parent company Sears Holdings released a list of the 39 Sears stores and 56 Kmart stores the company plans on closing later this year.

The Sioux Falls store lucked out and didn't make the latest closure list. However, as Francis Sawyer (a.k.a. Psycho) from the motion picture Stripes is so fond of saying, you just made the list buddy, if you live in Rapid City.

The Sears store located in the Rushmore Mall in Rapid will close its doors in early April.

According to the Argus Leader employees from the Sears and Kmart stores on the closure list will receive a severance from the company, and a chance to apply for available positions at stores that will remain open within the area.

The company plans to start liquidating merchandise from the stores that will be closing beginning on (January 12).

Sears stores in both Bismarck, North Dakota and Waterloo, Iowa were also part of the latest wave of closures made by the Sears Holdings company. The Kmart store in Aberdeen, South Dakota was on the list as well.
