It was a crazy Thursday night for a husband and wife and a Sioux Falls Police officer.
According to KSFY, a woman was a victim of a hit and run accident near 12th and Marion. Police arrived to investigate. Later, the woman's husband arrived in his pickup. While they were all talking, a third car crossed the center lane, hopped a sidewalk, hit the side of the victim's husband's parked pickup truck and struck the officer in the arm.
KSFY reports the driver of the third car, Karen Mae Hurkes, 20, of Sioux Falls, was arrested for driving under the influence, vehicular battery, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance (meth) and reckless driving.
