Sioux Falls Diverging Diamond Interchange June 2023 Update
Construction season in Sioux Falls, otherwise known as summer, is in full swing. It seems there are new projects popping up everywhere you turn. One project that has been going on so long that it feels like part of the family is the 41st Street Diverging Diamond Interchange.
Here's what we are working toward:
By now we have all heard of the safety and efficiency benefits of a diverging diamond interchange, but it's the pain of dealing with the traffic delays to get there can be hard to swallow. That's not to take away from the hard work of the men and women involved in the project, we are grateful for their service and this project will be worth the wait.
A new drone video shows pavement in place on the westbound lane of 41st Street from Shirley Ave to Carolyn Ave. The east lane of the bridge now has concrete poured and more work has gone into a couple of the on-ramps. Things are moving along nicely and traffic will be flowing through the completed project in November of 2023.
