The  Annual Festival of Cultures is coming up Saturday (June 17) and this year to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Coliseum, the building and parking areas around it will serve as the site for the festival.

The Coliseum at 515 North Main Avenue was built for about $100,000 back in 1917, got a major face-lift beginning in 2004 and is home to the Sioux Falls Multi-Cultural Center which sponsors the festival.

The festivities gets underway at 11:00 AM and don’t end until 7:00 PM. Admission is free. Parking is free. In fact the only thing you'll pay for is what you eat and whichever arts, crafts, jewelry, clothing or collectibles you just have to have!

As usual you'll find delicious foods to choose from gyros, pita salads, nachos, walking tacos, shish kebabs, egg rolls, BBQ, smoothies, gelato, crepes and more! You'll see vendors with everything from clothing, sweets, & jewelry, to gift items, handicrafts, and nesting dolls.

Of course the entertainment plays a big part in the fun and there will be no shortage of it.  Watch a judo or soccer demonstration, get your meditation on, listen to Broadway show tunes, a Celtic band, Roosevelt High School's Drum Group and South Dakota music stars, Brule, headlining the festival from 3 to 4 PM.

Kids World will be set up outside and children can find lots of fun and educational activities, plus hands-on, make & take projects that teach them about the importance of cultural diversity too, while they’re busy just being kids.
