A few weeks ago the Minnesota Vikings hosted a very courageous young boy for a weekend and a game. Earlier this fall eight-year-old Wyatt Hanisch was diagnosed with brainstem glioma, which is a tumor in the brain that is found along the brainstem.

Not only did the Vikings bring Wyatt up for the game against the Chargers, but they also brought him to their facility to watch practice the day before. The Hyatt Place Minneapolis/Downtown also hooked the Hanisch two rooms for the weekend so they could comfortably enjoy their weekend.

Wyatt and his family had a fun filled weekend that created many good memories to cherish. However, now a local company has generously contributed to Wyatt and his family as well.

The South Dakota Junior Football League does a 50/50 raffle at the championship games here at Howard Wood and the Dakota Dome. In years past the money would go to the league, but this year they wrote Wyatt a check for $4,400.

Like many in the Sioux Empire, the generousity has been tremendous in a difficult time for the Hanisch family and they have been so grateful for all the thoughts, prayers and donations.

This Saturday the Humboldt and Montrose Knights of Columbus Council will host a benefit dinner & Silent Auction for Wyatt. The event will take place at St. Patrick Church Hall in Montrose.

The silent auction will start at 12 P.M. at the Montrose school gymnasium and there will be a freewill offering as well as a pork chop dinner starting at 5 P.M.
