Old Dominion are one of country music's hottest groups right now, but things weren't always so stellar for the award-winning quintet.

In a throwback post online, Rodney Atkins shares that the group starred in his video for "It's America," many years before their award-winning success as the 2019 ACM Awards Group of the Year.

"Not many folks know that 10 years ago...@OldDominion made their acting debut in the #ItsAmerica video," Atkins posted on Twitter on Friday (April 12). "They were in the bridge section 'it’s a kid with a chance...it’s a rock n roll band!'"

The "Caught Up in the Country" singer added several still shots, showing some of the members of Old Dominion in a cameo appearance in his video from 2009.

"It's America" became Atkins' fifth No. 1 hit when it was released as the lead single from the album of the same name in 2009. More recently, he has returned to the spotlight after an extended absence with his latest single, "Caught Up in the Country," which is the title song of a new album he is slated to release on May 10.

Old Dominion most recently won Group of the Year honors at the 2019 ACM Awards, where they also performed their latest single, "Make It Sweet."
