The biggest party on the Big Sioux continues as Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc. presents the 4th annualDowntown Riverfest. The free event takes place Saturday, August 13, on the Downtown River Greenway between 6th and 8th Streets from 4 until 11 p.m.

Downtown Riverfest continues to evolve and expand its venue and offerings, and has grown from 10,000 attendees in 2013 to nearly 17,000 in 2015 - a new record.

Main stage entertainment schedule:

Local children's performer Phil Baker will perform from 5 until 7 p.m. in the Midco Tent in the Raven Industries parking lot.

The SD Canoe & Kayak Association will once again offer canoe rides on a first-come, first-served basis from 5-8 p.m. just south of the main stage amphitheater. The cost is $10 per rider.

The free community event also features live art, kids' activities from the Washington Pavilion, product/display vendors, and a fireworks display presented by Xcel Energy. Eight food vendors will be on site in the Raven Industries parking lot, as well as three beverage tents throughout the venue. Beverage proceeds benefit the DTSF organization, which helps to keep the event free to the public.

Pokemon Go players can look forward to special Pokestops during event hours.

DTSF is still in need of volunteers to help during various shifts at the Downtown Riverfest event on Saturday, August 13th.

Every volunteer receives a commemorative Downtown Riverfest t-shirt, sponsored byCenturyLink.
