Minnesota Tinder Date Turns Into Police Pursuit
A Minnesota woman is regretting that she "swiped right" after she became involved in a police chase during a Tinder date.
I'm sure the date started with the best of intentions. Maybe a nice dinner then the two would hop on the back of the suspect's Honda motorcycle for a nice cruise around town.
It wasn't long before things went sideways as the suspect decided to flee from the University of Minnesota Police while his date was holding on for dear life. Court documents show that the suspect was running red lights while police were in pursuit.
Clearly, the woman was not having a great night as an unwilling participant in a police chase. However, Romeo did the right thing and stopped so she could get off the bike and walk right into the hands of a waiting police officer.
The pursuit ended as the woman quickly gave up the name and address of the suspect.
Two weeks later, the suspect was involved in another high-speed chase, but this time he was tracked by a police helicopter and apprehended.
The suspect pleaded guilty to felonies in both cases and was jailed. He was sentenced to three years of supervised probation. The Honda motorcycle that was used in both pursuits was put up for sale at a government auction.
In the future, maybe this woman should try finding dates at the library.
