Minimum-security Inmate Missing in Sioux Falls

Law enforcement agencies and the State Department of Corrections are looking for a missing state prison inmate in the Sioux Falls area.

The DOC says 43-year-old Geoffrey Peterson failed to return last evening to the minimnum-security unit of the Jameson Annex at the State Penitentiary from his work release job in Sioux Falls.

Peterson is described as a Native American male with dark hair and brown eyes, five-feet-11 inches tall and weighing approximately 215 pounds.

He is serving a ten-year-sentence with five years suspended from Minnehaha County for fifth-offense DWI.
