Midland have been putting the final touches on their sophomore album for release later in 2019, and some lucky fans and industry professionals got to hear the first single from the upcoming project on Feb. 12 in Nashville. The country trio performed a new song titled "Mr. Lonely" during a concert at the Country Music Hall of Fame as part of a showcase during the 2019 Country Radio Seminar.

According to Nash Country Daily, Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson played the new single "Mr. Lonely" during a free pop-up concert for fans and country music industry members alike. The new track has a '90s throwback rockabilly-influenced rhythm to it. It's the first song Midland have shared of the follow-up to their debut album, 2017's On the Rocks.

"Mr. Lonely" will be the debut single from Midland's second album, which has yet to be titled or given a tentative release date. The record is expected for release in 2019, but no further details have been announced.

"The music that we have written now reflects us even more," Duddy tells Taste of Country. "We used our band for most of the songs we recorded because we wanted to truly feel our band. We wanted to feel live while being recorded in a room, with all of these guys knowing each other and vibing with each other."

Midland's Country Music Hall of Fame set also included songs from On the Rocks along with a few cover songs. The trio have consistently been on the road for the past year supporting their debut album, and they recently began the 2019 leg of their Electric Rodeo Tour.
