Country music guitar-slinger Lindsay Ell is adding a No. 1 album to her name.

Ell's recent release, The Project, which dropped on Aug. 11, earned the top spot on the Nielsen Soundscan Current Country Albums Chart this week. The feat makes Ell just the second solo female artist to debut at No. 1 with a debut album in 2017. The album also landed at No. 7 on Nielsen’s Top Current Albums, solidifying a Top 10 All Genres debut.

"The Project is the record I’ve wanted to release since I was a little girl, but as an artist, sometimes it takes time to figure out what you want to say and how you want to say it," she says. "I'm so grateful to my entire team for standing by my side throughout the whole process. Every single fan that has come to my shows, stood in meet and greet lines, and sang songs that they've learned through YouTube videos is what keeps me working so hard. Having a No. 1 selling album is incredible and I’m overwhelmed by the support. I've finally made a record that's me, and I'm just happy fans are loving it as much as I do."

Lindsay Ell Proves She's a One-Woman RockStar With This "Criminal" Performance

Ell penned 9 of the album's 12 tracks, including her current single "Waiting on You," which she wrote with Adam Hambrick and Andrew DeRoberts. The Project was produced by Grammy winner Kristian Bush.

In support of Brad Paisley, Ell is entertaining live audiences across North America on select dates of the country superstar's Weekend Warrior World Tour, in addition to her own headlining shows through October.

“When you think of the list of all the best attributes you could throw into a blender to create a musical artist, such as soulful vocals, writing chops, ability to play the fire out of a guitar, being gorgeous, and not to mention class and kindness, Lindsay is all of it," Paisley says in a press release. "Here's to her future.”
