Kid Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker Band rolled into the Sioux Falls Arena Monday night (March 18) with five trucks of equipment and pyrotechnics and left the near capacity crowd wanting more.

Kid Rock is on hisRebel Soultour and made his first stop in Sioux Falls in seven years. The time away has just given him time to hone his stage show and make no mistake, he is definitely a showman!

Combining elements of rock, rap, country, pop and Motown, Rock and his eleven member band made sure every person in the Arena had a good time and knew how much he appreciated us spending our hard earned money to come out to the show.

His set included several songs from Rebel Soul but he made sure that the hits were played: All Summer Long, Picture, Born Free, Only God Knows Why, Cowboy and the song I had to wait until the encore to hear-Bawitdaba.

He even included a song that he wrote on Sunday and Monday after spending the weekend in Minneapolis and Fargo performing with his friend and his biggest idol, Bob Seger. Titled The Best Night Of My Life , Kid pulled out an acoustic guitar and had the lyrics printed out on a stand so he could see them talking about growing up listening to Seger as a Detroit boy and the thrill it was over the weekend of not only opening for his hero, but sharing the stage both nights for several songs. It really showed the human side of him knowing that in some ways, he's like us and still gets star struck. He followed the new song up with a full band cover of Seger's Rock and Roll Never Forgets.

Hellbound Glory opened the night with a 25 minute set of some rockin' country that you could imagine hearing in any honky tonk in the midwest. Buckcherry then followed with an hour long set that featured several songs from the band's latest release Confessions but also included fan favorites like Lit Up, Crazy Bitch, Sorry and Everything.

After nearly three and a half hours of music on a Monday night to nearly a full house, it was great to see our town come out and support live music. Let's keep it up so we can continue to draw big shows when the new Events Center opens!
