Josh Abbott is officially a dad. He and girlfriend Taylor Parnell welcomed their baby girl, Emery Farryn, into the world May 5, 2017 around 1 AM and Abbott says he’s already smitten with the little lady, whose name means "brave adventure."

"We wanted to do something similar with a girl name to how my brother named his daughter Eisley Dawn, which means 'Cheerful Beginnings,'" the Josh Abbott Band frontman says in a press release. "And the word ‘brave’ is a word I used to describe Taylor in a song I wrote for her, 'I’m Your Only Flaw,' on the new album coming out this year."

It’s clear she’s already got him wrapped around her tiny finger.

“Hard to explain it unless you’ve experienced it, but Emery has already changed me as a man,” Abbott tells People. “I’m so excited to show her love and all the life lessons she’ll need to conquer this world.”

Abbott has experienced a lot of ups and downs personally this year so far, with the unexpected loss of his father in March and now the birth of his daughter, all of which has impacted the band’s Live While You Got It Tour. The band just canceled a couple of shows May 4 and 5, likely due to the new addition to the family, but previously canceled shows due to his father’s death as well. The tour runs through the end of July. The band’s most recent single, “Amnesia,” appeared on their most recent record Front Row Seat and came with a poignant music video to match.
