Up Lighting Sheds New Light on Weddings
I have a confession to make. I really love the wedding business. Specifically, I really love being an entertainer at wedding receptions. When I began Jammin' Jay's Wedding Entertainment a few years ago, I wanted to bring my years of experience as a radio personality to the dance floor.
What I enjoy most is the traveling. I have been as far as Gettysburg before. Last weekend, I was in Winner. Occasionally, I will take a trip longer than 151 miles. I grew up in Lead/Deadwood, so I know what it's like to come from a small town. I think the relatability is still there. Once you grow up in a small town, it never really leaves you.
I have to say I have had some great experiences along the way. I love making each event fun. My only goal is to see smiling faces at the end of the night. If I see people smiling, then I've done my job.
I constantly think of how I can add value to an event. One of the cool ways that I've been able to do that is using up lighting. If you're not familiar with up lighting, just take a look at the picture. I can up light the area behind the head table or the whole room for that matter.
If you choose to up light behind the head table, just make sure the backdrop is white. Some venues throw in the backdrop. With others, you may have to bring your own. Check your local rent all store for that piece of equipment.
Lighting has come a long way in recent years. The lights are now LED lights, which means that they are not going to burn anything or anyone. The really slick feature is that they come with dip switches or programmable codes to create any color you would like for your event.
In this illustration, I was at the Old 77 Bar and Grille in Dell Rapids earlier this year. The Old 77 is a great place to hold an event. They are very hospitable and friendly to work with.
The bride chose purple for her uplighting color. When the guests began to walk in, I heard some ooohs and ahhs and I knew then I had it right. When I saw the smiling faces at the end of the evening I really felt great that I was able to provide a double service that impacted so many people in a positive manner.
I offer a few different packages for wedding receptions and parties. I am now booking this fall and winter and next summer is beginning to book up as well. If you would like to inquire about how I may be able to help for your event, feel free to submit any questions to me at jamminjaymobiledj@hotmail.com, or you can call me at 605-310-8307. I would love to have your guests oohing and ahhing!
