It is never too early to start thinking about summertime food festivals and two of the best from our area are in the running for top national honors.

USA Today's 10 Best is looking for the Best City Food Festival in America and events in Minnesota and Iowa have made the list of 20 finalists.

In the North Star State, the Uptown Food Truck Festival made the cut.

This event has attracted more than 60 food trucks previously and has three stops planned for 2023:

  • June 24 - Hopkins
  • July 22 - St. Paul
  • August 19 - Anoka

In the Hawkeye State, the World Food & Music Festival is up for consideration.

This event, which began in 2005, is held each summer at Western Gateway Park in Downtown Des Moines.

The 2023 festival runs from August 25 to August 27.

You have until March 20 at 11:00 AM CT to cast your vote.
