In South Dakota, Lake Oahe made the cut.

The large reservoir formed by Oahe Dam on the Missouri River just north of Pierre has 50 different recreation areas and more than 2,000 miles of shoreline.

According to Wikipedia:

'Local fish include channel catfish and lake trout. There are also walleye, northern pike, and smallmouth bass. Chinook salmon are artificially maintained in Lake Oahe. The lake also supports populations of the endangered pallid sturgeon'.

Minnesota is represented on the list by Mille Lacs Lake, which is about 75 miles north of the Twin Cities.

It's the state's second-largest lake with more than 132,000 acres.

According to Wikipedia:

'The lake has many species of fish including walleye, northern pike, muskie, jumbo perch, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, black crappie, burbot, and tullibee'.
