For years, there has been a great pizza debate raging in America.

Well, according to a new Yelp ranking of the Top Pizza Places in the U.S. and Canada, it's neither.

In fact, only one of the pizza joints in the Top Ten is in either the Empire State or Windy City.

Instead, it's California and Florida pizza parlors that make up nearly half of the top ten.

  1. Sapori Di 786 Degrees - Pasadena, California
  2. Ciao! Pizza & Pasta - Chelsea, Massachusetts
  3. Zeneli Pizzeria & Cucina Napoletana - New Haven, Connecticut
  4. Smiling with Hope Pizza - Reno, Nevada
  5. Dixie Pizza Wagon - Hurricane, Utah
  6. Saverio’s Authentic Pizza Napoletana - Massapequa, New York
  7. Acqua e Farina by Ciro Esposito - Miami, Florida
  8. B+C Pizza - Laguna Niguel, California
  9. Toni’s Detroit Style Pizza - Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
  10. Napoli 1800 Cucina and Pizzeria - Miami, Florida

As for the Tri-State (Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota) area, only one location cracked the Top 100.

MaMa's Pizza - St. Paul
Google Maps Street View

MaMa's Pizza in St. Paul's North End neighborhood sits at number 62 overall.

The restaurant opened at the corner of Rice Street and Front Avenue in 1964 and has been family-run place ever since, now its second generation of the Mangini/Mudzinski clan.

Their famous 'Peachie's Famous Red Sauce' is named after Mom, Peachie, who passed away in 1999. It's at the heart of almost all of their dishes, including their popular New Flavor Explosion Pizza, which features sausage, pepperoni, bacon, pineapple, and banana peppers.

One thing to know before you go to MaMa's - be prepared to get your pie to go.

The restaurant stopped dine-in service during COVID and has since made the decision to offer only take-out orders moving forward.

Inside Minnesota's Largest Candy Store

I had been to Minnesota's Largest Candy Store once before, but they did some pretty cool things since the last time I was there. They added a bunch of superheroes, Star Wars stuff, and a candy band.

According to their Facebook page, Jim's Apple Farm is actually how the now huge candy store got its start. It is located in Jordan, MN and you can't miss it. It is a huge yellow building.

Even though candy is mentioned in the name, they have a little bit of everything. They have fresh baked pies and cookies and fudge. We walked in and it smelled amazing!

They also have the largest selection of sodas! Then there is chocolate and taffy and gummies and chips and puzzles and games. So much stuff!

They even have a Zoltar machine like in the movie, Big. I had to check that out. He told me the only helping hand is at the end of my arm. Gee, thanks Zoltar.

There were even crickets and worms! Not gummy worms, but actual worms.
They also have candy from all over the world!

The store is seasonal, however. November is their last month of operation for the season.
