
South Dakota Woman Remains Found In Shark’s Stomach
The body of a South Dakota woman, who disappeared last month off the coast of an island near Indonesia, was recovered Sunday (October 6) from inside a shark.
The Sun is reporting that 68-year-old Colleen Monfore, no hometown given, was with six friends on a September 26 diving trip when she got caught up in fierce currents and could not swim back to the boat.
She vanished shortly after that.
After an eight-day rescue operation came up empty, a local fisherman in East Timor discovered human remains, believed to be those of Monfore, in the belly of a shark, on Sunday.
Pulau Reong is a small island in the Alor Archipelago of Indonesia, known for its exceptional scuba diving.
