Sometimes your eyes play tricks on you.

When I first saw this Facebook post from the South Dakota Highway Patrol and noticed the number 77, I just assumed that they had clocked someone driving 77 Miles Per Hour, which, depending on which road you're traveling on, could be a minor infraction, a more serious issue, or, if you're on the interstate in a rural area, no violation at all.

But then, upon closer inspection, I realized that the 77 was in reference to how far over the limit this driver was.

Yikes!

No word on where this took place, but needless to say, 142 in a 65 is not smart or safe.

A lot of people were wondering how motorcycle traveling so fast was actually apprehended by authorities.

That was answered in the comments section, where C Allen Nelson pointed out that the SDHP has some troopers operating a Ford Mustang GT with the V8 Coyote engine that produces 460 HP, 420 ft one of torque, a top speed of 155 mph, and will go from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds.
